Dallas Zoo Trip!!!!!

Since we have been talking to Ava for the last 19 months about Elephants, Monkeys, Giraffes, etc...we decided to take a family trip to the Dallas Zoo. Here are some of the exciting pictures from our day out. Enjoy!!!

Thanksgiving weekend at Nanna's is always fun, especially when she lets you eat and drink whatever you want. Ava had her first Capri Sun and successfully drank out of a straw for the first time too! My big girl is getting bigger. Hallie shows her how to do it.

Ava's First Haircut

Ava gets rid of her fuzzy wuzzy hair!! I have always heard that if you want your baby to grow thicker hair, cut it! well...I wanted and need for Ava to grow hair. We have lots of bows but no hair to fit in them. This hair cut was about a month ago and yes, Ava has worn a clip bow two times with a little bribing. Every since wearing her antennae as a "hat", we have been calling bows hats in order for them to stay on. This has worked somewhat.

Porch Memories

Ava and I went on our usual morning walk. She wasn't ready to come back in so I decided to give her a "little field trip" to our front porch to discover our pumpkin, mum and well...she found a rock. Every since this day our outside ritual consists of smelling of the mum, patting the pumpkin and ringing the door bell. By the way, Ava originally had on a pair of matching jeans, but got them wet from the park so I stripped her down into these bloomers.

We got into the Halloween spirit last month, yes, I am a little behind with my blogging, but better late than never, right? I love this picture because if pictures could talk than you know what they would say,"Where is my mommy, right Macie?" Thatcher and Ava have mastered how to turn away from the sun. I think I understand why people pay photographers big bucks for photographs, getting three babies to sit still, nevermind trying to get them to look at you simutaneously takes skill that I haven't mastered. .....Thatcher the Lion.....Macie the Bumblee.....Ava the Monarch Butterfly

Reid and Hallie---My Cousins

Fall pumpkins are the best, especially in a big patch. Hallie and Reid are real troopers when it comes to posing with the pumpkins. I have several pics. of them year after year. They are just as adorable as last year, only a little bigger. Hallie is 6 and in the first grade and Reid is almost 4. Ava is crazy about them and vice versa.

My Little Monarch

Ava loved her costume so much that I decided to let her wear it pre-Halloween to Nanna's house. Her Aunt Leslie, my favorite photographer, snapped some good ones of Ava on Nanna and Pappie's front porch. Ava's fondness of pumpkins has been a fall pasttime, let's see...patting the pumpkins, throwing the pumpkins, and yes, smelling the pumpkins. With all of Nanna's pumpkins on the front porch, we were able to keep her happy--just one little thing, no worries about throwing, nanna's pumpkins were too big. "Ava, can you flutter like a butterfly?"

Our Little Longhorn

Since I knew that college football is now going to be on for a while, I decided to make the most of hearing football on the big screen by dressing up Ava in her little Longhorn uniform. I wish I had the camera and captured her proud daddy as she pranced out into the living room. In a couple of weeks he will get to show her off as we will be driving down to Austin for a game. She will be most spirited sporting her new uniform. I found a miniature Bevo, just what we needed another stuffed animal, but he is Bevo. Look out Ellie and Kitty, you may be replaced soon. I hope the trip goes well. I think we will be renting another house for the weekend. I hope this one does not have loose rats roaming around at night. ....Also Ava hasn't been in the car longer than 2 hours so we will see. Change is good, right? She needs to experience the world and I not freak about her schedule of sleeping, eating, etc. Thank heavens for portable DVD players and Baby Eienstein videos.

GiGi Comes to Visit

GiGi came to visit! I hosted a baby shower for Ashley Belcher on Sat. morning so Jon Jon and Ava got kicked out for the morning and headed out to the mall with GiGi. I am not sure who had the most fun, GiGi or Ava. ....When the cat is away, the mice come out to play! Ava enjoyed getting her ice cream and then got to dig into GiGi's rocky road too. She had fun going to Baby Gap. Thank you GiGi for the new outfit too! We love you GiGi!!

Sitting Pretty!!

Tootlebug and I met Abbie and Macie at Chick Filet for lunch --gotta love processed chicken, and then followed up with a playdate. It is funny watching two one year olds play. They do a lot of parallel play, playing beside one another, until one of them sees something the other would like to have, then their once best buddy isn't their best bud anymore. Both girls love to play with "Lulu". "Lulu" is the very soft stuffed lamb that Ava is sitting on below. Lulu doesn't do anything like light up or say, "baaaa", but is the favorite anyway. I don't remember who sat on her first, but remember when we both tried to put both girls on for a quick picture and then, baam... both of them went rolling onto the hardwood floor. This was funny to watch!!

Sweet faces. Ava and Macie take a time out and sit pretty for the camera. I was very proud of myself to get them to both be still and understand why photographers make big bucks, am I missing my calling, ha!!

Our Tootlebug is Walking

Ava's First B-Day Party
